Our Story

Same air, everyone

We've stood in ten-thousand-square-foot homes owned by billionaires and in single-wide trailers where a family of five shares one bedroom. Here's what we learned: the air doesn't care what you paid for the house. The problems are the same.

How this started

A career spent across the whole spectrum

The founder of Monitor My Air spent years inspecting homes — every kind of home. Waterfront estates with wine cellars. Suburban split-levels. Rural farmhouses. Trailer parks where the skirting had rotted through. On paper, nothing about those places was alike.

But the clipboard told the same story everywhere. Bathroom fans venting into attics. Grading sloped the wrong way. Humidity sitting at 70% because nobody had ever mentioned a dehumidifier. Mold behind the baseboards, scrubbed and repainted and back again. The mansion and the mobile home had the exact same problems — because they were built by humans, breathed on by weather, and run by families who were never taught how a house actually works.

That's where the phrase came from. Same air, everyone. A billionaire and a family scraping rent breathe the same molecules of moisture and mold spores. The physics doesn't check your bank balance. And that felt, frankly, like something worth building around.

Why it had to exist

Nobody was connecting the dots

Here's the pattern we watched play out over and over. A person gets sick — headaches, fatigue, a cough that won't quit, an autoimmune flare that came out of nowhere. So they go to a doctor, who treats the symptoms and, if they're lucky, asks about the home. They call a contractor, who wants to sell a new HVAC system. They hire an inspector, who hands over a forty-page PDF full of jargon and moves on to the next job.

Three professionals. Three silos. And the person in the middle — the one who's actually sick and scared and spending money — gets bounced between them with nobody connecting the health to the home to the fix. Everyone sees their own slice. No one owns the whole picture.

From the field

"I sat at a kitchen table with a mother who'd spent eleven thousand dollars — on doctors, on a remediation crew, on a new air handler — and her kids were still sick. Nobody had checked the humidity. It was 68%. A forty-dollar dehumidifier and someone willing to explain why would have saved her the whole year."

What we decided to build

An honest guide, in plain English

So we built the thing that was missing: a calm, honest, plain-English guide that connects your health, your home, and the fix — in the right order, without the jargon, without the upsell.

Not a sales funnel dressed up as advice. Not a scary blog designed to sell you a $600 spray. A real explanation of how your home works, what your air is doing, and what to actually do about it — the same guidance whether your house is worth eighty thousand dollars or eight million. Because the air is the same. So the truth should be too.

Where the guidance lives

The full, step-by-step Method — and the tools to work through it yourself — lives in the Library. It's written to be read by a real person on a hard day, not by another professional.

How we make money

The honest version, in plain English

An honest guide is only honest if its incentives are clean. So here is exactly how Monitor My Air makes money, with nothing left out:

1. Memberships. You pay a fair, flat price to access the Library and the Method. That's it — no per-fix charge, no pressure to buy anything else.

2. Application-only consulting. For people who want hands-on help, we offer consulting you have to apply for. We only take on work we can genuinely help with, so the advice stays honest instead of being stretched to fill a schedule.

What we will never do: we take no commissions from remediation companies. Nobody pays us to send you their way, so we have zero reason to tell you that you need a $12,000 remediation when a dehumidifier and a weekend would do it. When our store recommends a tool, it's because it's the right tool — recommended honestly — not because someone bought the placement.

Our only incentive is to tell you the truth.
